Photography Humbling

in Musings & Rumblings

I joined a special interest online photography group.

One of my very specific photography passion subjects is food.   I was feeling "okay" about my work.    Admittedly I've been feeling like I've hit a wall and am not progressing right now. Yes, I've seen some progression and I've definitely become a better photographer with a more discerning eye.   However, my technique and style is … well … waivering.

Joining this group made me realize that I have so much to learn.  So much to do.   I'm not feeling overwhelmed.   I just need to regroup.   Analyze.  Better handle on lighting and composition of food.  Practice.

Practice.

Practice.

Did I say practice?

I've read and have heard it said that Food Photography is one of the most difficult types of photography.   While it is absolutely challenging in so many ways…so are other types of photography.  I have a respect for all the different aspects I'm aware of and am always in awe when I come across another type I had never considered.

Okay.  Enough bellyaching.  I need to practice.
